the journey so far
My professional journey started with me working as an IT support engineer in DUC (Diyar United Company). Later I transitioned to Software Development. During my time in DUC, I worked there in multiple outsourcing projects such as PAAET, KPC and KOC. During my work at PAAET, I felt comfortable in the education sector. There is so much untapped potential in term of creative software solutions that can revolutionize education and aid the students in their learning journey. It is then I decided to focus on software development within the education sector.
Afterwards I decided to switch to RBS (Al R’uya Bilingual School) where I worked on LMS, SIS and ERP systems that were developed in-house. In addition, I worked on App development for the same school. During my time there I learned how to work within a team and how to communicate with upper management and collect requirements. For sure my time there helped me grow an understanding of the educational process and increased my love for the industry. During this time as well, I acquired my Master’s in Business Administration.
During Covid, it was tough for all schools around the world and RBS was no exception. I decided to move to the startup world as there was a growing attention to online services and the push for digital transformation. I joined Sakan which is a startup specialized in proptech. It is where I got to grow my knowledge and expertise in managing startups, operations, attending investors meetings, giving demos about products and services and not to mention, leading a team of 4 developers.
My time in Sakan was an essential step towards building a real understanding of what goes into building a startup. In addition, I worked on giving private lessons for college students as I was looking to establish my own company. I got Najaa Technologies off the ground in 2021 with multiple clients and later joined ktech as an instructor in 2022. Currently, I’m working as Instructor and Software Developer at ktech while managing Najaa Technologies with a partner, building software solutions and pushing the boundaries of what technology can do in education and beyond.
With the rise of AI, I found myself drawn back to the startup mindset. I’ve been channelling years of experience across industries into building new ventures, from domain-specific software solutions to something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time: games. AI has unlocked a pace of building that makes it genuinely exciting to explore ideas that once felt out of reach, and I intend to make the most of it.
